Suggested Topics for Workshops
1. Case study appraisals and problem solving, this could include:
i) Bed blocking issues
ii) Individuals and accesses to information on rights of assessment
iii) Cross-boundary exchanges
iv) Problems associated with individuals in receipt of housing benefit and property rental in the private sector
v) Professionals dealing with physically disabled individuals and follow up procedures
2. Specific barriers faced by specific groups such as:
i) The elderly physically disabled person
ii) Physically disabled children and their parents/carers and significant points in their lives, such as leaving institutional care
iii) Ethnic minority groups, issues such as reluctance to seek help outside of their cultural groups and issues surrounding care services and religion (e.g. help with washing prior to prayer) - housing issues may be significant where people are isolated from their cultural group
iv) Those with both learning difficulties and physical disabilities
